Moca passed away shortly before Christmas in December 2014.

Moca is an older, blind, male ferret who came in with adrenal disease. He currently has very little hair but was given a Lupron shot in hopes of reversing some of the adrenal disease. We think he was a chocolate or silver blaze. He came in with four other ferrets, including one who died from seizures after arriving. They were all kept on a very poor diet of dollar store cat food and pine shavings. His skin is very itchy and pink at the moment.

Sponsors needed for Gizmo and Daisy!

Gizmo is a light silver male. His cagemate passed away and he is currently being housed with Daisy. Gizmo came in very thin, ill, and didn’t want to eat. He is currently still undiagnosed and we aren’t completely sure what is wrong, but the blood work showed a liver infection.

Daisy is a chocolate mitt female with cute little knee patches. She came in with Gizmo and is extremely sweet. Unfortunately, she was also sick when she came in, and ran a fever for weeks. She is still showing an elevated white blood cell count (indicating some kind of infection).

Both ferrets are on various meds and need repeated visits to the vet. Daisy seems to be considerably improved. Gizmo, though, while he’s gained weight and seems a bit better, is still too thin and very sick. Daisy should be available for adoption soon.

  • Coat Color: Chocolate
  • Behavior: Gentle, sweet
  • Gender: Male
  • Date of Birth: 6/1/2008
  • Adoption Donation: $50

Scooter is a sweet, older, chocolate male. He loves being cuddled and will give kisses. He came to the shelter with dry, thin fur and feeling ill. He was given a Lupron shot for adrenal and has since gained weight and energy. He is currently rather reliably newspaper trained outside the cage (if you own ferrets, you know “reliable” is unusual) and uses the litter pan inside the cage. He enjoys the shelter’s duck soup.

Scooter is very bonded with Pooter and they are currently housed together. They would probably do well in a house with (gentle) school aged children and older. Scooter might tolerate other gentle ferrets, but it would be best if they were housed together.

If you are interested in Scooter, please fill out an application here. Visits by appointment only. Thank you for looking!
