This was written by shelter volunteer, Joe, for the Ferret Giving Tree:

Hello, I came to the shelter with my buddy Brody. Our mom decided to go to school far away and couldn’t take us along. We were left with her family, but they really don’t have time for us, so the Hide-E-Hole agreed to take us in. We had to wait for months to get in since the shelter was full, but now we get more playtime and really good food here. Shelter mom says I’m photogenic. What do you think?

Shelter mom says: Billie is an interesting color. I think she’s a sable roan mitt. Since she’s arrived, she seems to have gotten more gray in her coat. She’s mild-mannered but playful and a bit more adventurous than Brody. Billie isn’t very interested in being held but she never nips.

About Barb Carlson

I have owned ferrets since 1987 and have been running the shelter officially since 2002 (although I was doing it unofficially for a number of years before that). I'm also involved with the Three Rivers Ferret Council, and have given two talks on how to care for sick and post-surgical ferrets.
